TalkTalk Set To Raise Their Prices

Following the announcement made by BT who are set to increase their landline and call prices by 5% this December, Telecom and ISP provider TalkTalk have announced a rise in it's home phone charge. The changes will come into place from October 1st 2011. The price increase will raise from a monthly rate of £12.60 to £13.80, equating to an increase of 9.5%.

It was also announced that some call charges will be increased from the 1st of November, including price increases for call return and voicemail call return charges from 12p to 20p per call.

A positive that current and prospective TalkTalk customers can take away from the announcement is that from the 1st of October a new Value Line Rental service will be introduced, requiring a one-off payment of £114 for the year. For customers who may think of leaving, moving to this service would equal to £9.50 a month.

Commercial director of TalkTalk Tristia Clarke said the deal represents a "simple way" for consumers to get the best possible price for their home phone.

"Our customers have told us that they love getting great value and they want long-term confidence about their outgoings," she added.

With the recent announcement of price increases for both BT and TalkTalk customers, there will be no doubt that many British homes will feel the impact.
