BT set to deliver media network for London Olympic games
Mon 14 Jun, 2010 // Firstnumber TeamBT has signed a deal with Olympic Broadcasting Services London (OBSL) to provide the broadcast and media network for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
By signing the deal, BT will be required to deliver critical communications that underpin vital services that are required for the smooth running of the entire event.
Most importantly, BT's fibre optic network will transfer broadcast signals from each of the event's sporting venues and onward for transmission via other providers around the globe.
BT's broadcast and media network is expected to cover 21 Olympic locations mainly in London.
Duncan Ingram, group director of BT London 2012 said:
“This is an exciting partnership and one where we will work closely with Olympic Broadcasting Services London to help provide essential Olympic sports viewing.”
