Study of mobile phone use and brain cancer remains inconclusive
Thu 20 May, 2010 // Firstnumber TeamFollowing the largest ever study into a link between brain cancer and mobile phone use, scientists said there was no clear evidence to suggest use of mobile phones lead to tumours.
The Interphone study which involved 13,000 phone users across 13 different countries, attempted to distinguish a link between mobile phone use and brain cancer and is currently the largest study of its kind to date.
Scientists monitored thousands of men and women with brain tumours and how often they have used their mobiles over the past 15 years.
Scientists monitored aspects like whether the presence of a brain tumour related to which side users' held their phones on as well as the connection between persistent calling and cancer.
Due to flaws, bias and individual's opinions influencing their answers, scientists were not able to draw a clear link between mobile phone use and brain tumours.
